2. Shaolin Jazz Panel and Live Music.  Sponsored by the Wyoming Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, the Student Activities Council is bringing Shaolin Jazz Panel tonight in the Union Ballroom.

The event will begin with a panel discussion at 6 p.m. which will consist of all the musicians as well as DJ-2 Tone Jones.  The panel will also have a question and answer period with the audience.  This will be followed by live music at 8 p.m.Shaolin Jazz mixes rap from the Wu-Tang Clan with hand picked jazz instrumentals.  This project is a result of Gerald Watson and DJ 2-Tone Jones.  Watson developed the idea for Shaolin Jazz while interviewing Logan Walters, a graphic designer who created a series of jazz inspired Wu-Tang album covers called Wu-Note. After the interview, Watson approached 2-Tone and Shaolin Jazz began. 2-Tone plays the role of the producer by creating the right jazz instrumentals with the right vocals and then cutting and mixing sounds to create their music. Walters graphically interpreted the visual identity of Shaolin Jazz without hearing a single track. This event is sponsored by the Student Activities Council and the Wyoming Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Individuals needing assistance to attend this event should contact the Campus Activities Center at (307) 766-6340. For more information, visit www.uwyo.edu/cac.
