Saturday’s Daily Dose

Saturday should always start out with a great breakfast and a cup of coffee. Today, stop into Perkins and have a great breakfast with friends and family. It will be sure to start your morning off right and prepare you for a great day. Here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce.

1. IMH Craft Bazaar. Today from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Come join in the Christmas Spirit!! The IMH Craft Bazaar includes wood crafts, jewelry, candles, baked goods, Christmas Crafts, and much more! The bazaar will be held in Ivinson Memorial Hospital Atrium- 255 North 30th St. For more information, contact the IMH Foundation office 307-742-2142.

2. Christmas Village- presented by Laramie Ladies Expo. Laramie Ladies Expo proudly presents Christmas Village. Come explore the Christmas Village on November 17th from 9am-3pm. Your favorite direct sellers and local crafters will be showcasing their very best, making this your one stop shop for all of your holiday needs. Located in the Activities Building at the Albany County Fairgrounds, over 35 different vendors will be at your fingertips.

3. Sugar Plum Tea Party and The Kingdom of Sweets. Ballet 7220, Laramie’s own professional ballet company will be holding a fundraiser for the company, our 2nd Annual ,The Sugar Plum Tea Party and The Kingdom of Sweets. This will be held on Saturday, November 17 from 1:00-3:00 pm at The Alice Hardy Stevens Center. This Parent/Child Tea will include an all-you-can-eat dessert bar, unlimited teas, beverages, and special performances from the upcoming ballet, “Aladdin”. Dancers will assist in serving, and you may have your picture taken with characters from “Aladdin”. All proceeds from the event will allow performances in Laramie. Tickets are only $20 for a couple. Tickets may be purchased by calling 742-6767, or by stopping by Laramie Dance Center at 213 S. 2nd Street. This event will sell out, as it did last year, so purchase tickets early! All ages are welcome and encouraged!

Ballet 7220 is Laramie’s own fresh and innovative professional ballet performing group under the direction of Kathy Vreeland. We are a non-profit dance organization. These very talented young people of Ballet 7220 are prime examples to others through their dedication, and their understanding of working as an ensemble and their commitment to being the best that they can be by presenting exceptional artistic work. Ballet 7220’s goal is present a wide range of ballets to entertain and educate audiences in the area. No one is paid for their involvement, nor is there any fee to perform. Past sold out performances include, “Peter and the Wolf’, “Alice in Wonderland”, “Snow White”.
4. Opening Reception: New Paintings by June Glasson. 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
June Glasson is an artist and designer that lives in Laramie, WY. She was born in Oyster Bay, NY in 1979 and received her B.A./B.F.A. from Cornell University in 2002. Her paintings have been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Nature Morte Gallery in Berlin, and various New York and stateside galleries. They have also appeared in The Paris Review, Guernica Magazine, People Magazine, Domino, and Asymptote Magazine.
