Hello, I am Lorrie McNamee, a UW intern for the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce and I will be blogging the Daily Dose this month. Are you ready for the weekend? There is just one more day to go. Make sure you plan something fun and get out and enjoy the cool weather doing your favorite activity. Now here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce.
1. Bring your own dish and join the Laramie Women’s Club meeting for lunch from 12-1 p.m. at the Alice Hardie Steven’s Center, 603 Ivinson Avenue. Admission is $5. For further information, contact Linda Hidalgo at (307) 760-7260.
2. You’ve been working hard. Why not take the night off and enjoy an evening in beautiful downtown Laramie? Altitudes Chophouse and Brewery has a diverse dinner menu sure to please everyone in the family. Don’t forget to try their special brews to compliment your dinner.
3. UW Idol Open Call. All those wishing to audition must sign up in the Campus Activites Center in the Lower Level of the Union. The first 100 people to sign up by 5pm will be guaranteed an audition spot. Check-in for the event will start at 8pm. All those auditioning will be given a 30 second time slot to sing a song of their choice a cappella style. A panel of judges will tally scores of all auditioned participants during a short break and the top 15 as well as 5 alternatives will be chosen to move on to the Semi-Finals, which will be held Friday, February 8th, 2013. The William Hung Award will be awarded for the “most creative” audition.
