How was everyone’s weekend? Did you enjoy the great weather and undeniable hint of Summer? What is great about this time of year is the the way the sun can drag you out of the house on a beautiful day and keep you entertained for hours. Today is also a great day and even though there is a slight breeze there is no reason why you can’t enjoy your evening outside. Here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber Commerce.

1. Workout that Monday Stress. Have you ever just had a case of the Mondays that you weren’t sure how to shake? The best way to make yourself feel better and create a rush of happiness is through exercise. Tonight go for a jog through your neighborhood or through the park. If you aren’t a runner, hope on your bike or grab a friend and go for a walk.

2. Dinner & a Movie. The best way to prepare a meal is with someone else. Make a date out of it whether it be with your kids, friends, significant other, etc. This will be the best meal you have all week because of how fun it will be cooking with others. Choose your favorite recipe and gather all you need at Safeway.

3. Hiking with Dogs. According to  GORP (Great Outdoor Recreation Pages) Turtle Rock Trail, Vedauwoo Recreation Area is the #3 best trail hike for you and your dog in all of America! How amazing is that? See below their full listing of our beautiful rec area or click here to view the entire article. If you want to make our first activity suggestion into more of an adventure, pack up your pup and head to Vedauwoo!

“Turtle Rock Trail, Vedauwoo Recreation Area, Wyoming
Distance: 4 miles round-trip
Leash laws: Voice and sight control or on-leash

With its magnificent granite monoliths strewn and stacked across this remote section of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, Vedauwoo Recreation Area has been a coveted destination for hardcore rock climbers for years. But you don’t need to climb to enjoy the arresting landscape and labyrinth of rock and trail. In southeastern Wyoming, just 12 miles east of Laramie, sits one of the best dog hikes around. Vedauwoo Recreation Area is one of the least-visited and most geographically interesting recreation areas in the country. The easy four-mile loop passes through marshy wetlands with small pools (there’s even a little waterfall), shady aspen groves, and catacombs created by hundreds of granite boulders scattered across the landscape like carelessly tumbled children’s blocks. Dogs should be on-leash at the trailhead, but once you’ve advance onto the trail, those who respond to voice commands can run free. The day-use fee is $5. From I-80, take exit 329 about 1.2 miles east to the parking lot. The trail can be accessed from either the east or west parking areas.”
